The Samurai’s Forge – 1983 Suzuki RG250 Recommissioning Update
Share
Every machine that enters The Samurai’s Forge has a story to tell. This time, it’s a 1983 Suzuki RG250, a two-stroke warrior that’s been patiently waiting to return to battle.
As part of its recommissioning, we ran into a small but critical issue—one of the anti-dive systems started leaking after we bled the front brakes. A close inspection revealed a tiny ridge on the lower connecting face, just enough to cause trouble. Luckily, we had another unit on hand, so we swapped it out, filled the forks with fresh oil, and reassembled everything.

Now, all that stands between this RG250 and the open road are its original mufflers, which we’ve sourced directly from Japan. They’re already packed in a container, and once they land, this lightweight legend will finally be complete.

This isn’t a full restoration, but a careful recommissioning, staying true to the bike’s original character while ensuring it rides just as Suzuki intended.
The bushido code teaches patience and precision—both are essential in reviving machines like this. Soon, this RG250 will roar once more.
Stay tuned for the final steps—we’re almost there!
